Müller voted 2015/16 Cup Hero

A nice accolade for Thomas Müller! The world champion has been voted Cup Hero of the 2015/16 season and will leave his footprints on the Walk of Fame at Berlin's Olympic Stadium.

"It's pretty cool I won the vote. It feels good," commented Müller, who won his fourth DFB Cup title with FC Bayern last season. The 26-year-old scored four goals and set up another three in last season's cup campaign, netting from the spot in the final, a 4-3 victory on penalties over Borussia Dortmund. Plaster impressions of his feet were made in the FCBayern.tv studio during the week.

Robben also immortalised

Müller claimed 39 percent of the votes in the poll initiated by the German FA (DFB) and cup partner Volkswagen, topping the rankings ahead of Erzgebirge Aue's Max Wegner and former Bayern pro Claudio Pizarro (Werder Bremen), both on 21 percent.

The DFB Cup Walk of Fame has honoured the greatest cup heroes since 2013. Every year two heroes join in, one from the more than 70-year history of the competition and one active pro who shone in the previous season. Arjen Robben was the first active player to be immortalised two years ago.
