No fewer than 82,012 spectators attended the Audi Football Summit between FC Bayern and Real Madrid, but one of them ranked as a very special guest indeed, namely Henry Kissinger. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge greeted the former US Secretary of State at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Kissinger was born in 1923 in the Nuremberg suburb of Fürth and has been an honorary member of FC Bayern for many years.

Public training on Friday with Hummels, Sanches & Co

Following the travelling party’s return from the USA Carlo Ancelotti has awarded his squad Thursday and Friday off. However, there will still be a training session at the Säbener Strasse facility starting 10.30 CEST on Friday when the Germany internationals including Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels plus Kingsley Coman and European champion Renato Sanches report back for the new season. “These lads contribute immense quality, even more quality than we already have, so we’ll be delighted when they’re back,” commented captain Philipp Lahm. The training session is open to the public.
