Ancelotti: A good start to the campaign

FC Bayern made a perfect start to the new Bundesliga campaign on Friday evening: "We played very well over 90 minutes," said Carlo Ancelotti after his Bundesliga debut, a 6-0 thrashing of Werder Bremen. "When we were in possession you could see we were delighted to be playing. We were in control throughout the match," new signing Mats Hummels summarised .

Reaction to Bayern v Bremen

Carlo Ancelotti: "It was a good start to the Bundesliga campaign. We scored an early goal, that was good. We were in control then. We played very well over 90 minutes. Robert Lewandowski is a fantastic striker. We pressed forward well, set up many combinations and attacked with many players."

Philipp Lahm: "We played good football today, but it's not enough to start giving verdicts on our pre-season preparations. It's the first matchday. We can be pleased."

Mats Hummels: "When we were in possession you could see we were delighted to be playing. Apart from a short phase in the first half, when we lacked concentration, we were very focused and clearly dominated the match with our individual class. We were in control all the time."

Viktor Skripnik (Bremen coach): "All credit to Bayern, an utterly deserved victory. We planned it differently. We wanted to show a reaction after the disgrace in the cup. We didn't succeed at all. It was too easy for Bayern, we were too naive at times. Everyone could see Bayern's class and Bremen's weak play."

Clemens Fritz (Bremen captain): "We were scared of playing football today. Nobody wanted to have the ball, we didn't really go for the one-on-ones. Bayern had no problems passing the ball in our own box at times, and that's unacceptable."
