Renato Sanches will not feature for Portugal in this week's internationals as the 19-year-old is not yet match fit. Instead, the midfielder continued his individual sports rehab training in Munich on Monday.
Sanches, a EURO 2016 winner with his country a few weeks ago, misses the meetings with Gibraltar and Switzerland. The Portuguese association and FC Bayern medical units have decided that the player should remain in Munich on this occasion. "Renato is still feeling the injury to his muscle, and that prevents him taking part in Portgal's two upcoming matches," commented FCB club doctor Volker Braun,.
"I want to thank the Portuguese FA for their excellent partnership and understanding. Above all I wish to thank asssociation president Fernando Gomes," commented FC Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
