Times Square in Bayern frenzy
Times Square on Sunday afternoon: illuminated signs everywhere. Countless yellow cabs are honking, working their way through the centre of Manhattan. Hordes of tourists are waiting in long queues at cash desks between skyscrapers. But one gathering does not fit in. “What’s going on at T-Mobile,” a passenger is wondering. A gigantic screen above the entrance to the T-Mobile store, Broadway @ 46th Street, provides the answer: “Come meet Bayern Munich.”
Hundreds of Bayern fans accepted the invitation. One hour before the beginning the fans queued outside the building. Shortly after 16.00 local time the crowd cheered as Xabi Alonso and Holger Badstuber entered the store for a selfie session. The two Bayern pros were available for photos and autographs for 60 minutes. Dozens of fans watched them through the window. Times Square, the pulsating heart of Manhattan, was in Bayern frenzy this afternoon.
