Boateng and Robben resume squad programme

133 days after the semi-finals against Atlético FC Bayern open their Champions League campaign on Tuesday evening. The Bavarians are in for a tough challenge as they entertain FC Rostov. "None of us really knows the opponents we're going to face. But it's important to be ready and take three points straightaway," declared skipper Philipp Lahm.

Two days after the 2-0 victory away to Schalke the Munich men started to prepare for the Champions League encounter on Sunday morning. 22 pros exercised under Carlo Ancelotti's auspices, including Jérôme Boateng and Arjen Robben, who completed parts of the squad programme for the first time after recovering from injury.

Commitment despite hot summer temperatures

After warming up and a few passing exercises the duo continued their individual programmes after 30 minutes. Tuesday's match comes too early for Boateng and Robben, whereas Kingsley Coman completed the full session and might be an option for the match. Ancelotti is likely to make a final decision on the matchday.

The rest of the squad completed different rondo drills and displayed commitment despite hot summer temperatures in the late morning. The final training session is on Monday morning before the Champions League anthem finally rings out across the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening!
