Very few Bundesliga match-ups have been played as often as this one. FC Bayern and Hamburger SV have met 102 times in the German top flight – there have only been more meetings in the north derby between Hamburg and Werder Bremen. FCB hold a clear historical advantage with 61 wins, 22 draws and just 19 defeats. It is also the largest number of victories for any side over another team in the Bundesliga.

Seven years unbeaten
Bayern also hold the edge over HSV in recent times. The last defeat (1-0 in Hamburg) came almost seven years ago! Hamburg’s coach that day was, and is today, former Bayern striker Bruno Labbadia, and he will take charge of his 200th match as a head coach on Saturday.

A dozen wins coming up
The champions' 3-0 win over Hertha has continued FCB’s impressive Oktoberfest record. The Reds have lost none of their last 20 Bundesliga matches played during the Wiesn (17 wins, 3 draws), including victories in the last 11. The last club to take points off Bayern during the Oktoberfest was Hamburg (0-0 in September 2014)!

Robben catches Makaay
Ten games, eight goals and four assists: Arjen Robben loves playing against Hamburg. The Dutchman has been involved in more goals against HSV than against any other Bundesliga side. His next league goal would also see Robben overtake fellow countryman Roy Makaay as FCB’s top Dutch goal scorer. Both are currently on 78 goals.

Ancelotti’s goal spectacle
Carlo Ancelotti will remember the Volksparkstadion well. In September 2010, the Italian brought his side Juventus to Hamburg in the group stage of the Champions League for a match that ended 4-4. The German side won the return trip 3-1 in Turin.

Zwayer takes charge in Hamburg
Felix Zwayer is the man in the middle for this north-south clash. The 35-year-old estate agent has already refereed 22 Bayern games – most recently in January 2016 when he took charge of the same fixture: Hamburg – Bayern, a 2-1 victory for the champions. His assistants for Saturday are Thorsten Schiffner and Christoph Bornhorst. Robert Schröder is the fourth official.
