Following the 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin, head coach Carlo Ancelotti praised “the best performance of the season so far” and two returning stars. Arjen Robben celebrated his comeback with a goal. “It gave me goose bumps,” said the Dutchman in delight when talking about his goal which settled the game.
Reaction to FCB v BSC:
Carlo Ancelotti: “I am happy. We played well from the first minute, played with intensity and quality. That was the best performance of the season so far. With Jérôme Boateng and Arjen Robben we had two players return from injury. Everything is okay.”
Arjen Robben: “I felt goose bumps when I came on. It was a nice moment. I have worked hard for that. You can’t describe it. I’m really happy.”
Pal Dardai (Hertha BSC coach): “Congratulations to Bayern Munich, they had a great day. We tried not to sit back and to defend from the front, but we couldn’t do that in the opening 20 minutes. In the second half we made some changes, which meant things went a bit better but we made individual mistakes which led to the second and third goals.”
Mitchell Weiser (Hertha BSC): “Bayern had a good day. We did not tackle well and were too far away from the opposition players. It was a deserved win. They outplayed us. We’ve done well to leave here with just a 3-0 loss.”
