There was quite an impressive haul of silverware around the training ground on Tuesday afternoon: 10 Bundesliga titles, 9 DFB Cups, 3 Intercontinental Cups, 2 Champions League titles, a World Cup, a European Championship and even some German League Cups on top of that. And all this in the form of FCB legends Bixente Lizarazu and Giovane Elber, who were at Säbener Straße watching the first set of players to return from international duty take part in training.
David Alaba and Thiago were back from their respective national teams and took part in a diverse training session four days ahead of the trip to Eintracht Frankfurt. The session included passing games, tactical exercises and a fiercely contested training match. Arjen Robben was also present in training following a week off after suffering bruising on his ribs.
Costa and Martínez make progress
Douglas Costa and Javi Martínez did not train with the team today but were out on the pitches. The Spaniard did some running exercises for the first time in ten days since his adductor injury. Costa (thigh muscle injury) took part in the team’s warm-up exercises before moving onto a neighbouring pitch for some individual training.
