Four members of FC Bayern’s first team have been nominated for the 2016 World Player of the Year! Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, Robert Lewandowski and Arturo Vidal have made it onto the 30-man shortlist announced by French magazine France Football on Monday. Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also made the list.
In recent years, the Ballon d’Or has been won by either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, and these two are seen as favourites once again. For Bayern, having four players nominated for the shortlist is already a great achievement. The award ceremony will take place in December this year, not in January as is normally the case.
