
2017 FC Bayern Youth Cup kicks off
Here we go again! The sixth edition of the FC Bayern Youth Cup starts on Wednesday 16 November. Some 100 school teams will compete in the four-day qualifying tournament in Bangalore, India to seal a spot in the national final. Further qualifying tournaments will be staged in Mumbai and Delhi. A total of 3,500 youngsters born in 2001 and 2002 will participate in the Indian preliminary tournaments.
The two finalists from each tournament qualify for the national final in Delhi on 3 and 4 December. World and European champion Paul Breitner will travel to Delhi to see the hopefuls fight for the ten coveted spots in the team to represent India.
Similar qualification tournaments will take place in Thailand, China, the US, Austria and Germany. The selected youngsters will travel to Munich in mid-May to represent their countries in the Youth Cup World Final at the Allianz Arena on 21 May. Austria are the current holders.
