The weekend was packed with events for FC Bayern: the Annual General Meeting, the victory over Leverkusen, the fan club visits and the contract extension with Franck Ribéry. On Monday morning the FCB pros returned to the training ground. Almost the entire squad was present for the session. Only Jérôme Boateng, who is recovering from a muscle problem, Kingsley Coman (torn ligament, capsular tear) and Julian Green (ruptured muscle bundle) missed the session, while Javi Martínez worked individually in the performance centre. "The victory against Leverkusen on Saturday was very, very important," Ribéry commented after the session on FCBayern.tv: "We have to keep it up." Bayern are back in action on Friday when they take on Mainz.
Congratulations, Zé Roberto!
On Sunday former Bayern pro Zé Roberto won his first Brazilian championship title - at the age of 42! His club SE Palmeiras beat Chapecoense 1-0 on the second to last matchday, sealing their first championship title in 22 years. Zé Roberto played his part in the success as a first-team regular and key player for the Brazilian record champions from São Paulo. Zé Roberto and Palmeiras had won the domestic cup last season. The midfielder made 169 Bundesliga appearances for FC Bayern from 2002 to 2006 and from 2007 to 2009, winning four domestic doubles.
