High noon on Monday - Waiting for CL draw
Barcelona, Arsenal, Leicester City, Napoli, AS Monaco, Juventus - Bayern will face one of these six clubs in the Champions League Round of 16. That was the state of play after the final group matches on Wednesday night. The draw takes place on Monday (12.00 CET). The games will be played on 14/15 or 21/22 February (first leg) and 7/8 or 14/15 March (second leg). FC Bayern will be at home first.
"I'm relaxed about it," said Mats Hummels. If the central defender had a free choice of opponents then he would really want one "I haven't played before." In fact, Mats doesn't mind who he faces. "Perhaps, it will be one of the best teams or possibly a supposedly easier one. It doesn't really matter to me."
That's how Thomas Müller see the draw. "We'll take it as it comes," said the most prolific German goalscorer in the Champions League (38), who believes missing out on winning the group is not necessarily a disadvantage. "We finished top last season and drew Juventus who were champions of Italy five or six times on the bounce." Müller is convinced: "I think we're in a good position if we can produce the goods." Never mind who the opponents are.
