FC Bayern will be without defender Jérôme Boateng for Sunday's Bundesliga game at SV Darmstadt 98. Boateng has "problems with his pectoral muscle," revealed Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti on Friday. The 28 year-old centre-back has been unable to take part in training and will be absent for the clash with the league's bottom side.
It remains to be seen whether Boateng will be be available for the final game of the year next Wednesday against RB Leipzig. Ancelotti stated that the World Cup winner will be assessed again at the beginning of the week before a decision can be made.
However, the Italian tactician does have Javi Martínez, Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben at his disposal again. The trio took part in Friday's training session and are fit to play against the Lilies. "They were tired but they trained well today. They're ready," said Ancelotti, who has been pleased with his team's work in recent days. "We've trained very well this week. I'm confident we can put in a good performance on Sunday."
