Training, physiotherapy, meetings, media and sponsor events – during nine intensive days in Doha, the Bayern squad will be looking to lay the foundations for a successful second half to their season. fcbayern.com brings you all the ins and outs of each day in the desert emirate:

Day 4: Friday 6th January

GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY: Javi Martínez and Sven Ulreich are back. The Spaniard took part in the squad programme for the first time since the holidays after recovering from a cold, Ulreich resumed goalkeeper training after shaking off muscular problems.

BREATHER OF THE DAY: Renato Sanches missed the session with a cold.

BEST PART OF THE DAY: The second half of the day. Carlo Ancelotti gave his squad the day off after lunch. Philipp Lahm, Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels took to the golf course, seven others (including Joshua Kimmich, Xabi Alonso, Holger Badstuber and Arjen Robben) watched the semi-finals of the ATP tennis tournament in Doha. Some FCB pros relaxed at the hotel whereas others visited the nearby mall.

ADVICE OF THE DAY: "They shouldn't hide or tense up, but hit the gas, demand the ball, be unafraid of names and just go on after mistakes." (Joshua Kimmich's advice to the youngsters at the training camp).
