Thomas Müller's artistic scissor kick agains Darmstadt 98 or Franck Ribéry's sumptuous volley against Eintracht Frankfurt? Both goals were wonderful, and not only from a Bayern point of view as the strikes have made the shortlist for the Goal of the Year 2016 organised by sports programme ARD Sportschau. Votes for the 12 players responsible for the last year's Goals of the Month can be cast until 29 January. The award will be presented during the 4 February edition of the Sportschau.

Lewandowski surpasses Elber

On Friday night another FCB pro laid down a marker and might feature on the Goal of the Year 2017 shortlist. Robert Lewandowski's second goal against SC Freiburg was mouth-watering. The Bayern striker surpassed former FCB forward Giovane Elber (133 goals) in the Bundesliga scoring chart with his first goal on the night. Lewandowski now lies 20th in the rankings, one goal short of Horst Hrubesch and two behind Uwe Seeler. The Poland captain is now on 135 goals, the second-best non-German scorer in Bundesliga history. Only Claudio Pizarro (190) has scored more often.
