Elber, Lizarazu and Salihamidzic new brand ambassadors for FC Bayern München
FC Bayern München and former players Giovane Elber (44), Bixente Lizarazu (47) and Hasan Salihamidzic (40) are back working together. The three Champions League winners from 2001 are the new brand ambassadors for the German record champions, continuing an established tradition of keeping quality former players close to the club, taking note of their importance for FC Bayern and cherishing their sporting and personal achievements for FC Bayern München.
"We're pleased we've been able to bring these three distinguished players on board. Giovane Elber, Bixente Lizarazu and Hasan Salihamidzic all spent years in Bayern colours with great success. They are well-loved by our fans and real icons," explained Andreas Jung, FC Bayern München head of marketing. "We are convinced they will perfectly convey the values of our club in their role as brand ambassador, together with Paul Breitner."
In their position as brand ambassadors, Elber, Lizarazu and Salihamidzic will represent FC Bayern across the globe and help to build and strengthen the FC Bayern brand at home and abroad. There will also be a year-long programme whereby the brand ambassadors will take part in marketing and PR activities for the club and its partners, content production for the in-house media departments, internationalisation schemes and other public appearances.
"It's nice to be back in the Bayern family," said Lizarazu, who between 1997 and 2006 "won everything there was to win. I'm pleased to be able to now go across the world and tell people what makes this club so unique and what FC Bayern means for me and millions of people."
"I'd like to thank Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeneß for presenting me with this job of great honour. To fulfil my role as brand ambassador for FC Bayern around the world, I will now learn English to go alongside Portuguese, German, Italian and Spanish," said Giovane Elber, who wore FCB colours from 1997 to 2003.
Hasan "Brazzo" Salihamidzic, FC Bayern player from 1998 to 2007, said: "I'm really proud to be one of the three new ambassadors. It's the best thing to happen to me since I stopped playing for Bayern. It's a real honour for me to be able to contribute to spreading the FC Bayern name across the globe."
