The Bavarians gave it everything in the friendly against Belgian top flight outfit KAS Eupen, even after eleven training sessions in seven days. FC Bayern won 5-0 in Doha on Tuesday evening before regenerating and packing their bags. On Wednesday morning the German record champions headed to the airport and are expected to arrive in Munich in the afternoon.
Carlo Ancelotti, who drew a positive conclusion before the friendly, has gifted his squad the day off on Thursday. On Friday the Bavarians will start preparing for the Telekom Cup at the weekend, one week before the Bundesliga restart. After the intense days in Doha the Bayern pros feel well-prepared, as they revealed before the trip:
Philipp Lahm: "It was important we worked out well this week, we really hit the gas. Thiago's injury is a bitter setback of course, but apart from this everyone will return pretty fit. That's positive."
Thomas Müller: "The training camp was superb. We trained really well and also turned in exercises we didn't have so much time for in the first half of the season. We also worked out in the sand, without the ball, it was really exhausting. We hope we'll benefit from it. The spirit was good, we had lots of fun and intense practice matches. The friendly was a good finish. The conditions were top-notch, everything's well-coordinated here, training, food, sleep. Now we're looking forward to the restart."
Franck Ribéry: "You have to give it 100 percent at the training camp, for the entire season, and we worked out very, very well, it's superb. At the end almost everyone played 45 minutes, that's good for our rhythm. Now we're a little tired, but we've done a lot after all."
