On Tuesday afternoon, Carlo Ancelotti met up with Germany coach Joachim Löw in a Munich restaurant (see tweet below), but the FC Bayern head coach was back on the pitch at Säbener Straße the day after. Ancelotti was able to greet his captain Philipp Lahm there, who had suffered a blow to his knee earlier in the week and not trained fully. Lahm was able to take part in the roughly hour-long session on Wednesday without any problems. “Everything’s fine,” said the captain to FC Bayern TV News, and stressing his availability for the game against Schalke is not in danger. Arturo Vidal was also able to take part in the entire session, but Joshua Kimmich was sweating away in the performance centre.
Five Bayern players in team of the Hinrunde
FCB players Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, David Alaba, Thiago and Robert Lewandowski have been rewarded for their efforts so far this campaign by being voted into the official Bundesliga Team of the Hinrunde. The record champions have the most representatives in the side, which is completed by Sokratis (Borussia Dortmund), Mergim Mavraj (1. FC Köln / now Hamburger SV), Ousmane Dembele, Christian Pulisic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (all Dortmund) and Anthony Modeste (1. FC Köln).
