What’s nicer? Winning a title or showering a teammate in beer? Watching the FC Bayern player celebrating a trophy does not give a definitive answer, but the joy is certainly great. Just take a look at the picture above of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Christian Lell.

Lukas Podolski was the one caught out this time as all he wanted was to pose for a winner’s photo following the 2008 DFB Cup triumph. Bayern had just emerged victorious from a hotly contested game with Borussia Dortmund. It was “Poldi” who set up the decisive goal for Luca Toni in injury time to make it 2-1, so he more than deserved his beer shower.

The former Bayern player got to experience another great moment in his career on Wednesday evening as he scored the winner against England in his 130th and final appearance for Germany. Only this time, he wasn’t showered in drinks by his teammates, but with handshakes. Whether things then kicked off a bit more in the changing room afterwards, we’ll never know. But in any case: Cheers, Lukas!
