Ancelotti: I'm very pleased with my team

FC Bayern turned in an impressive display away to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday. "I'm very pleased with my team's performance," Carlo Ancelotti commented after the final whistle. "We quite hit the gas," added Thomas Müller. The German record champions have gone unbeaten since Matchday 11 and extended their lead over RB Leipzig to 13 points. "The cushion is very nice," the match-winner said.

Reaction to Borussia Mönchengladbach v FC Bayern

Carlo Ancelotti: "The first half was really, really good, but we failed to score in the first 45 minutes. We kept looking for the lead after the restart, and then we scored. I'm very pleased with my team's performance."

Thomas Müller: "The cushion is very nice. Of course we were aware of the situation, and we absolutely wanted to win the match. You saw in the first half we quite hit the gas, and you saw how things can go in football at times. We were a bit weaker against Frankfurt last weekend, but we were 2-0 in front at half-time. Today we went full throttle and it was 0-0. That's why we love football, it's so volatile. Sommer was really good today, but we also failed to make the most of a couple of situations up front."

Manuel Neuer: "We had some gilt-edged chances in the first half, but Sommer made superb saves. Gladbach gave it everything until the final whistle, but we were rock-solid."

Dieter Hecking (Borussia Mönchengladbach coach): "I'd like to pay my team a huge compliment, we did a fantastic job. Of course the result is disappointing. If you lose 1-0 all the effort didn't pay off. But my team's morale and spirit were outstanding once again. The only thing that dampens our mood today is the result."

Yann Sommer (Borussia Mönchengladbach keeper): "Every defeat is annoying, this one too. Perhaps it would have been possible to score in the second half. You can't blame the team today."
