FC Bayern completed their final training session before the Bundesliga game away at 1. FC Köln in bright Munich sunshine on Friday morning. Carlo Ancelotti was in a good mood, and not just because of the spring temperatures. A view at the personnel situation gave the Italian something that every coach wants.
“All players are ready,” said the 57-year-old in his press conference at Säbener Straße. Mats Hummels, who was substituted as a precaution at half time against Schalke on Wednesday, completed the entire session and “has no more problems.”
Jerome Boateng also took part after receiving the green light for full training with contact after an assessment by the medical department. However, the games against Köln at the weekend or against Arsenal on Tuesday have come too early for the centre-back. “He’ll be able to play against Frankfurt,” announced Ancelotti. Manuel Neuer took part in an individual session the day before the Cologne game.
This has given the head coach the sort of problem every coach wishes for. “Unfortunately I can only pick eleven,” said the Italian taking into account his many options. Nevertheless, the experienced boss knows very well how to deal with such a dilemma.
