Some celebrations are just as famous as the goals that gave rise to them. On 23 January 2010 Arjen Robben handed Bayern a 3-2 lead against Werder Bremen from a free-kick. Celebrating his 26th birthday on that day, the Dutchman crashed the ball from a tight angle into the far corner via the crossbar.
Robben was brimming with joy, sprinting across the pitch to celebrate with his coach. Louis van Gaal, fearing a collision, tried to escape, stumbled and fell in front of his bench, laughing. Robben was not to be stopped in his euphoria, embracing his compatriot on the ground. A memorable celebration rounded off a sumptuous goal.
