Congratulations! Renato Sanches has been named Best Young Player in Portugal in 2016. Sanches won the poll with 46 percent of the votes cast, finishing ahead of Gelson Martins (34 percent) und André Silva (20 percent). In addition, the 19-year-old and his Portuguese team-mates were presented with a prize for winning the UEFA EURO 2016. The Bayern pro received the award at the Gala Quinas de Ouro in Estoril and thanked his team-mates: "I wouldn't have won this trophy without them." The award is both a great honour and further motivation for the future, according to the midfielder: "I want to win more."
FCB Youth Cup kicks off in China
The next venue for the Youth Cup will be the FC Bayern Football School at the Sino-German Ecopark Qingdao in China. On Saturday 25 March the hopefuls fight for the ten coveted spots in the team to represent China in the FC Bayern Youth Cup World Final at the Allianz Arena in May. Team China will contest the Youth Cup for the sixth time in a row. FC Bayern wish all participants every success!
