Reaction to Bayern v Augsburg
Carlo Ancelotti: "We've had a few problems after international breaks recently. Our spirit and the quality of our play were good today. We turned in a very good display from the kick-off to the final whistle."
Jérôme Boateng: "We played well. Our ppassing game was good, and we quickly scored. We shifted down a gear in the second half. I'm pleased I played 90 minutes, and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks. The atmosphere in the team is good, we're in form and we're feeling good. Everybody has to go full throttle."
Manuel Baum (FC Augsburg coach): "We pondered a lot before the match, and we knew we'd need a very good day. We turned in a reasonabe display in the first half, we were strong in the one-on-ones but lacked conviction in attack. We weren't solid in defence in the second half. It's a bitter result for us."
Paul Verhaegh (FC Augsburg captain): "You mustn't go down like that. The second half was bad. We didn't defend well, we left too much space. It goes without saying that Bayern are able to exploit this. We put up a decent fight in the first half. We knew Bayern would dominate possession, so we had to run a lot. We were knocked out of our stride in the second half."
