Three days before the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid Thomas Müller returned to the training ground. As head coach Carlo Ancelotti had announced on Friday, Müller resumed parts of the squad programme on Sunday after missing the last two matches with an ankle problem. Keeper Manuel Neuer worked out individually in the performance centre.

Petersen equals Zickler's record

Former FC Bayern pro Alexander Zickler now has to share his record as the most dangerous sub in Bundesliga history. Nils Petersen, who wore the Bayern kit in the 2011/12 season, scored his 18th goal as a sub in SC Freiburg's 1-0 victory over FSV Mainz. Petersen needed 55 matches to achieve this mark, whereas Zickler needed 102, almost twice as many. Claudio Pizarro on 16 and Robert Lewandowski on 13 goals are the only pros who might topple the two from their perch in the near future.
