FC Bayern will begin the 2017/18 season on 18 August with a home match against Bayer Leverkusen (kick-off 20:30 CEST). The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) revealed the long-awaited fixture list for the 55th Bundesliga season on Thursday. FCB will finish the campaign at home to Stuttgart on Matchday 34.
The first away outing for Carlo Ancelotti's side will be in Bremen, where the record German champions meet Werder Bremen on Matchday 2 (25-27/08). The start of Oktoberfest sees Bayern welcoming Mainz to the Allianz Arena on Matchday 4 (15-17/09).
Bayern fans have two cracking matches to look forward to on Matchdays 10 and 11. First FCB host last season's runners-up RB Leipzig (27-29/10) and one week later they travel to Dortmund (3-5/11). The Reds end the year with a trip to Stuttgart (15-17/12), before the second half of the season kicks off with the return fixture at Leverkusen (12-15/01).
Initially the fixture list only contains the time frames for each Matchday. The precise timing of the games will be decided over the course of the season and is largely dependent on Champions League and Europa League fixtures. The exact schedule for the first set of games will be announced by the DFL in around two weeks.
By the way, FC Bayern offers a great (free) service whereby fans can automatically sync every FCB match with their digital calendar (Apple iCal, Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar). All you have to do is click on the 'Subscribe' button at the top of the fixtures page on the website.
