FC Bayern München have signed a player from the Far East for the youth teams. The South Korean Wooyeong Jeong (born 1999) will join the German Record Champions from Incheon United on 1 January 2018 with a contract to 30 June 2022.
Jeong is a quick and skilled player who can play in several positions up front. He showed his quality earlier in the year when the 17-year-old completed trials over several days at Säbener Strasse and he also trained with the first team. He will initially be in the U19 squad at FC Bayern.
The junior international is the first South Korean to wear the FC Bayern shirt. Jeong, accompanied by his parents, has been in Munich for several days to complete his medical and sign his contract. The youngster also visited the FC Bayern Campus where he met the new U19 coach Sebastien Hoeneß.
