Diego Souza put the South Americans ahead inside the first minute, and second-half goals from Thiago Silva (62), Taison (75) and another from Diego Souza (90+3) increased the scoreline. Right-back Rafinha played the whole match in Melbourne, while winger Costa came off after an hour to be replaced by his former Shakhtar Donetsk teammate Taison.
Kimmich back with the national team
After two days off, the Germany squad began their final preparations for the Confederations Cup on Tuesday. Joshua Kimmich and co met in Frankfurt for a training session and an official photocall in Kelsterbach. The squad will fly to Sochi on Thursday, where they play their first group game against Australia four days later. Their other opponents in the group are Chile and Cameroon.
