Passing, playing, running: Bayern hit the gas
Despite the cold and rainy weather the fans flocked to the Säbener Strasse to watch the German record champions exercise under Carlo Ancelotti's auspices on Sunday morning, the second day of summer pre-season.
The Italian coach and his new assistant Willy Sagnol oversaw a total of 14 players, including seven outfield pros and the two keepers Tom Starke and Christian Früchtl. Five youngsters of the U-19s joined them. Once more, all players were highly focused and committed.
After warm-up the players completed a number of passing exercises, positional rondo drills and a training game before Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels & Co performed a series of sprints up the hill.
Jérôme Boateng continued his individual rehab programme on an adjacent pitch after sustaining a thigh injury in the last match of the season. The two keepers Manuel Neuer (foot fracture) and Sven Ulreich (elbow injury) continued their rehab in the performance centre.
The Bavarians returned to the training ground for a non-public session in the afternoon. The players will continue to complete two sessions per day before facing fifth-tier BCF Wolfratshausen in the first pre-season friendly on Thursday at 18.30 CET.
