Representatives of FC Bayern München and Juventus have agreed terms for the transfer of Douglas Costa. The 26-year-old, who has made 21 senior appearances for Brazil, joins Juventus on loan for one year. The Italian record champions may then exercise an option to make the move permanent on 1 July 2018.
"We had serious and constructive talks with Juventus' representatives. All of FC Bayern's financial demands have been met," declared chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
After moving to Munich from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2015, Costa made 77 competitive appearances for FC Bayern, scoring 14 and setting up 27 goals. He won two German championship titles, the DFB Cup and the DFL Supercup in his spell with the German record champions.
"I'd like to thank Douglas for his performances. After two successful years and four titles it was his big wish to take on a new challenge," said Rummenigge: "We granted his request, and we wish him and his family all the best for the future in Italy."
