Niklas Süle and Sebastian Rudy won the Confederations Cup with Germany on Sunday, but the two new Bayern signings hope many more successes will follow. They officially joined the German record champions on Saturday and will report for pre-season training at the end of July, after their holidays. The arrivals from Hoffenheim can hardly wait to join their new team-mates.
"I'm really looking forward to the task, I want to take the next step in my career," Süle told FCBayern.tv in Russia. The conditions are ideal, according to the 21-year-old: "You improve when you train with the best players every day." The centre-back knew "relatively early on" he would join the German record champions.
He held lots of talks with the people in charge, and the feedback his family and friends provided was encouraging: "I'm still a young player even if I've made a number of appearances. And of course it's an honour if a club like Bayern Munich want to sign you."
Süle's team-mate Sebastian Rudy too can hardly wait to join "one of the best teams in the world. I'm extremely looking forward to the new challenge," declared the 27-year-old midfielder: "I expect to improve even further, to make more of myself. I know I can do it, and I think the conditions at Bayern Munich are ideal for me to achieve it."
The defender is most impressed by Bayern's unyielding will to win: "They want to win everything. The mentality at the club alone is world-class, and I'm looking forward to be part of it." Rudy and Süle took the first step on Sunday, when they won the Confed Cup.
