Training group growing
The ranks at FC Bayern are filling up. One day after the return of six players as well as the presentation of new signing Corentin Tolisso, coach Carlo Ancelotti welcomed a strong squad to training on Tuesday morning. A total of 17 players – three goalkeepers and 14 outfield players – reported for the first of the day’s two sessions.
Having returned after his elbow injury, Sven Ulreich completed some goalkeeper training while Arjen Robben worked in the performance centre and in the sandpit again. Robert Lewandowski, Thiago, Rafinha and David Alaba took part in full team training as did Tolisso. Youngster Franck Evina, who scored twice in the friendly against Erlangen-Bruck, completed the group.
Jérôme Boateng was also part of the group. The centre-back continues to increase his workload and completed the majority of the training session on Tuesday. “I’m happy to be back on the pitch with the team,” the 28 year-old World Cup winner told FC Bayern.tv. “Now it’s about getting my fitness up during pre-season. I just want to stay fit this season, play more games and help the team to achieve its goals.”
