FC Bayern set up camp in Shanghai
As Robert Lewandowski, James Rodríguez, Mats Hummels and co stepped off the plane, they instantly forgot their tiredness. The German record champions received a phenomenal welcome from over 1,000 fans at the airport in Shanghai, and the Bayern boys showed their gratitude with autographs and selfies for their exuberant supporters in the Far East.
The group then headed for their team hotel, where hundreds more fans greeted them. The players didn’t have much time to relax after checking in, though, as coach Carlo Ancelotti arranged a session in the gym and swimming pool in the evening (local time) to shake off the jet lag from their long flight.
Two sessions on the pitch are on the agenda for Tuesday, with fairly hot conditions in store. It was 34 degrees Celsius on arrival and the high humidity meant the players were sweating heavily. The Audi Summer Tour 2017 will also be heating up in the coming days – and fcbayern.com and FC Bayern.tv will be on hand to bring it to you live!
