After two days off, FC Bayern return to training on Tuesday afternoon as they turn their complete attention towards Chemnitz following their penalty shootout win over Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup. On the one hand, the Reds want to prepare themselves for their upcoming third-division DFB Cup opponents Chemnitzer FC, but on the other, Thomas Müller and his teammates also want to use the time to take their pre-season efforts to the next level ahead of the start of the new campaign. As well as training on Tuesday, the team also have their official team photo as well as their DFL Media Day before they begin focussing on the football.
“We now have a few normal weeks of training where we can work well,” Mats Hummels had already said after the Supercup. “Hopefully we’ll then be at the right level by the end of August.” Bayern will have four training sessions ahead of their game in Saxony on Saturday (kick-off at 15:30CEST). One of them will be open to the public at Säbener Straße on Wednesday (10:30CEST) for any fans in Munich wanting to watch the record champions get ready for the new season.
