David Alaba injured his left ankle in Austria's World Cup qualifier against Georgia on Tuesday night and he is currently sidelined. That was the diagnosis of an examination in Munich on Wednesday. The FC Bayern defender injured himself in a challenge and had to go off on 38 minutes.

There is good news for Sebastian Rudy. The German record champions' new signing went off injured in Germany's 6-0 victory against Norway but he was able to train at the performance centre on Wednesday after his return to Munich. Rudy will probably return to full training on Thursday and is fully expected to be in the squad for the Bundesliga game against 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday.
