Laudehr cross proves key in Germany win

The Germany women won their second World Cup qualifier thanks to a cross by Simone Laudehr on Tuesday evening. Germany downed the Czech Republic 1-0 in a hard-fought match, the only goal in Usti nad Labem coming shortly after the interval, when Eva Bartonova put through her own goal after a Laudehr cross. FC Bayern's Kristin Demann, Leonie Maier and Sara Däbritz made the starting line-up too, with Mandy Islacker coming on as a sub in the closing stages. Lucie Vonkova made an appearance for the home side.
