'We'll have to turn in a different display in Paris'

Bayern and Wolfsburg shared the spoils on Friday evening despite a two-goal lead at half-time. "Wolfsburg didn't win the point, we handed it over as a present," an annoyed Thomas Müller said after the final whistle. fcbayern.com has collected more statements.

Reaction to Bayern v Wolfsburg

Carlo Ancelotti: "We didn't play as we had planned. We were slow, without intensity, not compact enough. We didn't control the game as we usually do, that's why we drew. Sven made a mistake but we ultimately drew because we didn't play well as a team. We'll have to turn in a different display in Paris."

Thomas Müller: "Wolfsburg didn't win the point, we handed it over as a present. We had two or three gilt-edged chances in the second half, we have to make the most of them. At the back we made it easy for Wolfsburg twice. We didn't move as a team in the second half, there were some gaps. In terms of intensity it was a step backwards compared to the matches against Schalke and Mainz."

Mats Hummels: "After conceding the first goal we absolutely wanted to score but failed to organise it well. We missed two or three chances to make it three. We didn't really allow a lot at the back but still conceded two goals. We have to accept it now."

Martin Schmidt (VfL Wolfsburg coach): "If you're two down and take a point at the end of the day, you can be satisfied. We were lucky Robben didn't make it three, the final scoreline could have been quite different then. You just need luck here. My predecessor Andries Jonker has a large share in the point, the performance and the passion and mentality we displayed in the second half."

Daniel Didavi (VfL Wolfsburg): "We're pleased with the point, not many people expected it. The coach didn't have much time, we only had two sessions together, but he tried to breathe life into the team, and he's managed. We fought as a team. During the first half you could tell Bayern didn't have their best day. It was a more open contest in the second half. It was a superb match."

Maximilian Arnold (VfL Wolfsburg): "The point is extremely important for the team if you look at our start to the season. It almost felt like a victory for us."
