Lewandowski: ‘A very important game’

First, he took Poland to the World Cup finals. Then he completed his university course. And finally, a street in the southern Polish city of Kuznia Raciborska has been named after him. Robert Lewandowski is having a fantastic October – including on the pitch. Last Saturday, the 29-year-old netted his ninth goal in eight Bundesliga games in the 5-0 victory over Freiburg. He has scored in all five competitive games at the Allianz Arena this term (six goals). And the next home fixture is on Wednesday.

It's a very important game for us," declared Lewandowski ahead of the Champions League game against Celtic who are level on points with Bayern in Group B. "Three points after two games is not enough for us," said the FCB striker in interview with FC Bayern TV LIVE. Compact in defence, and on the front foot going forwards is the way to take on the Bhoys.

"Every pass, every shot"

The FC Bayern striker is positive after the first week with Jupp Heynckes. "He also wants us to focus on the details. In training sessions every pass and every shot is important. We have to remain focused. We need to go forward together as a team and have fun," explained Lewandowski.

His goals have made a significant contribution to having fun. In his last twelve Champions League matches the Poland international has found the back of the net ten times. With a total of 24 goals, he is the most successful, foreign FCB goalscorer in Europe's premier club competition. Lewandowski now wants to use his abilities in front of goal to make the win against Freiburg the start of a run. "Now, we have to go from one win to the next."
