There was good news for FC Bayern on Thursday afternoon following Wednesday’s DFB Cup win and the return to Säbener Straße. Juan Bernat was able to join squad training for the first since the ankle injury picked up during the Audi Summer Tour. Bernat will up his workload in the next few days as he nears making his comeback.

There was more positive news about James Rodríguez. The Colombian, who had to withdraw late from the squad for the DFB Cup game at Leipzig due to a back problem, also rejoined his team-mates on the training ground. Head coach Jupp Heynckes will decide in the next couple of days whether James is an option for this weekend’s home match against Leipzig.
