Waiting for departure

The team are in a Lufthansa plane. Waiting for take-off…

10:50

Robben already excited

Arjen Robben can’t wait for kickoff: “When we play, we play to win. That won’t be any different tomorrow. We need to concentrate and push forward from the first minute to get a good result.”

10:42

Rummenigge thinks the chances of going through as group winners are low: “We’re not expecting PSG to lose. Theyv’e won everything up till now and haven’t conceded a goal. The team seems very stable. We would have to beat them 4-0 to be top. Obviously we want to win, but I’m not optimistic that it will be 4-0. We’re concentrating on ourselves and want to keep playing well.”

10:40

As always, Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge answered a few questions from reporters before departure. “We’re on a run of eight wins, and we want to continue that. We want to stay in good form. There’s also the UEFA ranking to consider. We want to ensure the fourth spot for the Bundesliga. Therefore we’re absolutely going for the win.”

10:25

What’s up with Alaba and Rafinha?

We also have information on the absence of David Alaba and Rafinha. Alaba has pulled something in his back, Rafinha has tweaked his ankle. Jupp Heynckes doesn’t want to take any risks.

10:23

There is news about injured Manuel Neuer. “He’ll soon be able to put down the crutches,” Rummenigge revealed, “There’s no reason to be pessimistic. Everything is as the doctors said it would be. It's all going to plan.”

10:20

Rummenigge is very satisfied with the team’s performances over the past few weeks. “We haven’t just been winning, we’ve been playing good football too. We have eight wins in a row and we have to stay in this good form”

10:15

Rummenigge speaks

Traditionally Karl-Heinz Rummenigge speaks to the media at the airport. Right now they are assembling around the FCB Chairman. We’re excited to hear what he has to say.

9:45

Third choice goalkeeper Christian Früchtl is in the squad for the Champions League match in Anderlecht, he’s travelling with the U19s rather than the first team though. The 17-year-old will be in goal for the U19s tomorrow for their UEFA Youth League game against Anderlecht. Kickoff for that match is 16:00 on Wednesday. The U19s are also travelling to Belgium at this minute.

9:18
