Thursday was free of training as Jupp Heynckes handed his players a breather, but the Säbener Strasse was a hive of activity in the morning. Robert Lewandowski, who was rested in the Champions League encounter away to Celtic with a minor thigh problem, and Juan Bernat (torn syndesmosis ligament) joined some reserves on the training ground to complete rondo drills, a practice match on a small-sized pitch, crossing and shooting exercises.
Müller on the grass
The convalescent trio worked out too. Manuel Neuer (hairline fracture of the metatarsal in his left foot) and Franck Ribéry (torn lateral collateral ligament in his left knee) reported to the performance centre. The Frenchman put in a shift on the AlterG, a treadmill with variable weight distribution. Thomas Müller completed his first session on the grass. Twelve days after rupturing a thigh muscle the native Bavarian turned in a gentle, 25-minute running session.
