While the majority of the Bayern players were either enjoying a training-free Monday or joining up with their national teams, some were working on their comebacks from injury - and with good progress. Franck Ribéry was back running on the pitch for the first time since tearing his lateral collateral ligament during the game at Hertha. The wet and cold weather was not particularly appealing but the Frenchman was nevertheless happy to be back outside

Müller braves the rain

Joining Ribéry in the unpleasant conditions outside was Thomas Müller. Wrapped up in a wooly hat, the 27 year-old did his laps under the supervision of Dr Holger Broich, head of fitness and rehabilitation, along with rehabilitation coach Thomas Wilhelmi. On the programme were running and coordination exercises, some with higher intensity. Müller suffered a muscle injury in the win at Hamburg and returned to the training pitch last week.
