DFB Cup draw on 7 January

FC Bayern are through to the DFB Cup quarter-finals after downing holders Borusssia Dortmund 2-1 on Wednesday night. The Bavarians will learn the identity of their next cup opponents on Sunday 7 January. Their potential opponents are Schalke 04, FSV Mainz, VfL Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and third-tier side SC Paderborn. The quarter-finals will be staged on 6 and 7 February.

Firsts for Boateng and James

Jérôme Boateng scored his first DFB Cup goal in his 38th match on Wednesday, whereas James Rodríguez made his maiden appearance in the domestic knockout competition.

FCB coaches visit Football School Shenzhen

Five months after the opening of the FC Bayern Football School Shenzhen the first coaches were trained in the Chinese metropolis. FC Bayern youth coaches instructed more than 150 local football teachers and coaches from 4 to 16 December. The participants received both theoretical training and hands-on instruction out on the training ground. Bayern coaches will visit Shenzhen on a regular basis in the upcoming months and years to conduct training and workshops.
