FC Bayern take on Werder Bremen in the first home match after the winter break on Sunday at 15.30 CET, and Robert Lewandowski will be available for selection, whereas Mats Hummels and probably David Alaba will miss the match. The latter was out of action with gastroenteritis on Friday, according to Jupp Heynckes: "He'll miss out in all probability."
On a more positive note, Lewandowski is fit after recovering from a knee ligament problem. "He says his problems have practically disappeared," reported Heynckes: "And you can see that. He made a good impression in training."
Hummels is still ruled out. The world champion, who missed last week's Bundesliga restart with adductor problems, is suffering from a heavy bout of flu. "He's free of fever now," commented Heynckes, but "it's completely unimaginable for him to play on Sunday. I'll be glad if he's available next week." Hummels returned to the training ground on Friday, taking part in the warm-up and passing exercises with his team-mates before working out individually.
