Kimmich fit again

On Tuesday morning, Jupp Heynckes greeted his squad for the first team training session of 2018 at Säbener Straße following the winter training camp in Doha. One of the players present was Joshua Kimmich after overcoming his illness, and he was able to take full part in the session. The right-back had in fact had an extra session on his own the previous day to try and get himself up to speed.

Hummels and Lewandowski making progress

Things are also looking up for Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski. Both were only able to train individually in Doha but were once again in the thick of it with their teammates on Tuesday. Lewandowski took part in roughly 45 minutes of the hour-long session, while Hummels took part in the team’s warm-up before continuing his own individual exercises.

Final chance to vote for UEFA Team of the Year

Speaking of Lewandowski and Kimmich, the pair are among the 50 nominees, alongside captain Manuel Neuer, for the UEFA Team of the Year. Voting on UEFA’s official website runs until 17:00 CET on Wednesday 10 January. Last year, Jerome Boateng was the only Bayern player to make it into the final XI so click here to vote now!
