The Year of the Dog is upon us as we celebrate the Chinese New Year. In honour of one of the biggest global holidays of the year, FC Bayern captain Manuel Neuer has teamed up with the Reds’ new Women’s goalkeeper Wang Fei to thank FCB fans in Asia for their support in the Year of the Rooster and wish them a happy and healthy Year of the Dog, both in Neuer’s native German and in Chinese, with a little help from Fei of course.
Red is an important part of Chinese New Year celebrations, with many red decorations and gifts of money in a red envelope a traditional present to represent good fortune, wealth and happiness. In the spirit of this, Neuer and Fei have a little red FC Bayern book which they both sign.
As family plays a major part in the Chinese New Year, the FCB captain then calls on the Bayern family to send their best wishes to the club’s fans in Asia. Javi Martinez recalls the fantastic support during Bayern’s Audi Summer Tour to Asia; Robert Lewandowski promises plenty more goals for fans in the course of the next 12 months; and David Alaba, Joshua Kimmich and dog whisperer Thomas Müller are joined by their very own canine companion to wish FC Bayern fans a happy Year of the Dog.
