Unique Heynckes run

Saturday's 2-1 away win at Wolfsburg was the 13th victory for FC Bayern in succession – a unique run for Jupp Heynckes. The FCB manager has never before won that many games on the bounce in his coaching career. In Tuesday's Champions League fixture against Besiktas, Heynckes could even equal the record for FCB coaches (since promotion to the Bundesliga in 1965) set by Pal Csernai. The Hungarian-born coach led FC Bayern to 14 games without defeat between August and October 1980.

Hategan to referee Besiktas match

Ovidiu Hategan is the referee for the Champions League Round of 16 first leg fixture against Besiktas on Tuesday night. The German record champions are happy to look back at the only previous Bayern game refereed by the 37-year-old Romanian: In November 2012, he was the man in the middle for the 6-1 home win in the Champions League against Lille.
