The move that lead to the opener in FC Bayern's 6-0 DFB Cup victory over SC Paderborn was a painful affair for Thomas Müller. The FCB captain collided with keeper Michael Ratajczak and was subbed off after the half-hour as a precaution. "Thomas sustained a bruised thigh," revealed Jupp Heynckes after the final whistle: "We'll have to see how things go in the next few days. I hope he'll be fit on Saturday." FC Bayern encounter FC Schalke in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
FCB extend record
The victory over Paderdorn was FC Bayern's 25th consecutive cup victory on foreign soil. The Bavarians extended their record streak.
Hummels, Kimmich, goal
Joshua Kimmich's goal before half-time was not only worth watching but also his maiden goal in the domestic knockout competition. Kimmich needed 15 cup appearances for his first goal. Mats Hummels' pinpoint assist was no less remarkable. It was Hummels' first assist in a cup tie in eight and a half years, his last one dating back to September 2009.
Cup expert Robben
Arjen Robben set up one and scored two goals in the victory over Paderborn. The Dutchman has been involved in 29 goals in 29 cup matches, scoring 16 and setting up 13 goals.
