Besides the already ill Jupp Heynckes, Sandro Wagner was a further absentee from training on Sunday, although for a more positive reason as the striker and his wife Denise welcomed their son Bruno into the world. He’s the third child for the Wagners after Luca-Marie and Hugo. Congratulations, Sandro!
No open training on Tuesday
Coach Heynckes has also granted his players an extra day off this week, which means there will be no open training session on Tuesday for those fans planning on going down to watch. The team will be back on the pitch on Wednesday in a closed session as they prepare for Saturday’s game at Wolfsburg.
All-clear for Boateng
Heynckes most likely be able to call on Jerome Boateng for that game against the Wolves. The centre-back went off in the second half against Schalke after suffering a blow, but the world champion was able to work in the performance centre on Sunday.
